Est. 830 PD ยท Outersteads, Zadash
Where the working folk of Zadash
pour their worries into a cup โ and drink them down.
About the Establishment
Tucked into the Eastern Outersteads of Zadash, The Leaky Tap has stood as a refuge for the city's working folk since before most can remember. Three stories of sturdy timber and stone, a raftered ceiling soaring twelve feet above your head, and room enough for a dozen tables โ all filled, most nights, with honest folk seeking honest drink.
Don't come looking for gilded candelabras or velvet curtains. What you'll find here is something better: warm ale poured without judgment, a half-elf band that plays mostly on key, and a barkeep whose scarred smile tells you he's seen worse than whatever trouble you've walked in with.
Currently under the proud ownership of Lauren Schvine, the Leaky Tap carries on its legacy as Zadash's most reliable stop for bed, board, and belonging โ no matter what empire says what on any given day.
Upstairs Accommodations
A bed, a lock, and a narrow window looking out on the Outersteads. Everything you need and nothing more. Washroom access included.
The best we've got. Two windows, a slightly larger bed, a writing desk for those who have correspondence to attend to. Quieter side of the building.
Six-bunk room on the third floor. Coin's tight? This is the answer. Bring your own pillow. Watch your boots.
All rooms include access to the communal washroom โ basin refreshed every two hours. Linens provided. The management bears no responsibility for items left unattended in shared spaces. If you need to speak to the owner, her office is on the landing between the first and second floor โ no sign on the door, you'll know it when you find it.
The People Behind the Bar
Proprietor & Owner
A Zadash local who took over the Tap from her friend Claudia Sheed. Lauren runs a tight ship with a warm heart. She knows this district, its people, and its whispers better than anyone. If you need something done in the Outersteads, she's likely the place to start.
Head Barkeep
A plump white dragonborn with a scarred but jovial face โ and the fastest hands behind any bar in the Outersteads. Wessek has a gift for opening tabs, remembering faces, and greeting even the most unusual parties with nothing but a raised eyebrow and a generous pour. "But there's six of you," he's been known to say. He'll find you a table.
Half-Elf Ensemble ยท Most Evenings
A rotating cast of half-elf musicians who've called the corner of the Leaky Tap home for longer than most staff can remember. They play folk ballads, working songs, and the occasional shanty from the Menagerie Coast. Mostly on key. Always full of heart.
What's On
Weekly card tournament. Buy-in: 5 cp. Winner takes the pot. House rules apply. No hexes, enchantments, or illusions at the table โ the last group that tried that had to leave through a window.
The house band plays all evening. Requests taken for a copper, but no promises. Mostly on key, always on time.
Discounted pottage and ale for anyone who can show proof of a day's honest work. Lauren's way of giving back to the Outersteads.
Buy a drink, share a rumor. Wessek presides. No names, no sources, no promises of accuracy. For entertainment purposes only. Probably.
Getting Here
We're in the Eastern Outersteads of Zadash โ the part of the city the Crownsguard doesn't patrol as often as they should, which makes for a lively evening. Look for the sign with the dripping tankard. If you reach the Chained Alley, you've gone a touch too far.
No carriage service. No courier pigeons. Walk in, same as everyone else.
